The insured beneficiary can port their Group Personal Accident policy to another insurer by applying at least 45 days but no earlier than 60 days before renewal, as per IRDAI guidelines. If continuously insured without lapses under any Indian health insurance policy, they will receive accrued continuity benefits for waiting periods.
At the start of the policy, the policyholder must nominate a person to receive claim payments in case of their death. Any nomination changes must be requested in writing and take effect only after endorsement. If no nominee exists, the claim is paid to the legal heirs or representatives, whose receipt is considered a full and final settlement.
Group Personal Accident Insurance premiums are determined by multiple factors, including the number of employees and dependents covered, the nature of their occupation and associated risks, and the sum insured for each individual. Additionally, opting for extra coverage, such as child education benefits, can impact the overall cost.
Medical expenses reimbursement (if opted for and specified in the schedule) covers necessary medical treatment costs incurred due to an Accidental Bodily Injury. The reimbursement is capped at 40% of the approved claim amount or ₹5,00,000, whichever is lower. The expenses must be for treatment by a qualified doctor.
Hospital Confinement Allowance (if opted as per the policy schedule) provides ₹1,000 per complete day of hospitalisation due to an accidental bodily injury. The maximum payout is capped at ₹30,000 for the entire policy period, regardless of multiple claims for the insured person(s).
Under transportation cover, if a claim for the insured person’s death is accepted, we will cover the actual cost of transporting their remains to a hospital, home, cremation, or burial ground. The payout is limited to the lower of ₹5,000 or 2% of the sum assured under the Basic, Wider, or Comprehensive coverage, as specified in the policy schedule.
Children’s Education Benefit (available if opted for in the policy schedule) provides financial support for the education of an insured person's dependent children. If a claim is accepted, a one-time payment of ₹5,000 per child (up to two children under 19 years old) is made to cover education costs in case of accidental bodily injury.
Under a Group Personal Accident Policy, Death Cover ensures that if the insured suffers an accidental bodily injury during the policy period that results in death within 12 months, the nominee receives 100% of the sum assured, as per the selected plan (Basic, Wider, or Comprehensive).
Permanent Total Disability (PTD) Cover under the Group Personal Accident Policy provides 125% of the sum assured (Wider or Comprehensive plans) if an accident causes total disability within 12 months, benefiting either the insured person or employer.
If an insured person suffers an accidental bodily injury during the policy period that fully prevents them from working, a weekly benefit will be paid. This amount is the lower of 1% of the sum assured under the comprehensive cover or ₹5,000 per week. Payments start upon proof of total disability & continue until recovery or for up to 100 weeks.
