What is Health Prime Rider Under Medical Insurance | Features & More

When buying a health insurance plan there are several features that you must consider. The features critical in your health insurance cover depend on your family medical history and present medical coverage requirements. So, the selection of the right health insurance plan must be made with thoughtful planning in mind. It is commonly assumed that health insurance plans only provide coverage for treatment costs. But there are several other benefits to keep in mind, such as cashless facility, cumulative bonus, free medical check-ups, lifetime renewability, and daily hospital cash. Among these several benefits of health insurance, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company has a unique offering, where it provides an add-on known as Health Prime rider. Let’s understand what it is and what are its key features you can take advantage of.

What is the Health Prime rider?

When you buy health insurance plans, the policy coverage is specified from the start. However, there are still some expenses that remain uncovered. This rider / add-on available for select retail and group insurance products helps to cover these risks that otherwise are excluded from your base insurance coverage.

Who is eligible to opt for the Health Prime rider?

All policyholders of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company who are subscribers to eligible health insurance cover and personal accident covers can buy the Health Prime Rider for themself or their family members. The Health Prime rider is available for policy periods of 1, 2 or even 3 years, depending on the term of the base policy. For group insurance plans, its term can be for a maximum period of 5 years, depending on the base insurance policy. Also, the entry age for this rider is defined by the terms of the base insurance cover. When it comes to paying premiums for the Health Prime rider, the option to pay premiums on instalments shall be available considering it is allowed for the base plan. * Standard T&C Apply

  • Doctor Consultation Cover
This rider also allows you to seek consultation with a medical professional from the prescribed network centres. There is no limitation to seek any form of consultation outside such a network centre (however, the reimbursement may be limited to a specified amount). *
  • Investigation cover
In case of illnesses that require pathology and radiology investigations, the coverage is available under the Health Prime rider for any such tests sought by the policyholder. *
  • Coverage for preventive health check-up
This rider allows you to seek an annual health check-up for the following:
  • Fasting blood sugar test.

You can select the right option based on the assessment of the coverage by verifying the policy terms. Since Health Prime is a rider available with your base policy, it does increase the overall insurance premium.
